I forgot to announce the news, De. became the 8th State to make same sex civil unions legal.
YEA! It passed quickly and my head is still spinning.

Yay!!!!!!!! Welcome to the civilized world, Dar. Looking forward to when all my U.S. friends enjoy the same human rights as Canadians.

(Also looking forward to when you Delawareans come and visit us up here in Godde's country.)

"Sometimes they are referred to as the 'radical Right.' But the fact is that there is nothing radical about them. They offer no novel solutions to the problems that plague them; indeed, they offer no solutions at all. They are immensely discontented with things as they are and furiously impatient with almost everyone in public office who can in any way be held responsible for their frustrations. But it cannot be said that they hold any clearly stated objectives or have any specific program either in common or individuals. They are fundamentally and temperamentally 'aginners.' And perhaps the commonest characteristic among them is anger. They can fairly be called, if nothing else, the Rampageous Right."

Reminds me of the Little Engine that Could--little by little, bit by bit, you'll win the race if you work at it.  :)

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard was not what I meant...

okay I missed this, really? WOW! incredible.

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

Yes it is yippie skippie!

It happened so quickly, I was in Dover as things happened and I think I said something bright like,"huh??".

I thanked all, nay and yea sayers, and could barely contain myself.  My paartner was astounded, being apolitical she did not understand right away this applied to US!

She was married to a man for 30 years, lost all those rights upon divorce. She had no idea...

She has one now. :)

Guess who became political and proposed?

:)

She proposed indirectly by calling her niece to tell her the news  in Malaysia and realized I was listening... She blushed, hung up and asked me directly, still blushing.

Perhaps she needed to ask me first?

lol.

No date, we are still moving in together.  Now we are legal and domestic partnership is recognized we are on our way.

The fun part right now is moving. oh my goodness.

Not to be a party-pooper, but this is ONLY civil unions, NOT marriage.

So? Civil unions are better than nothing. I think gay people do ourselves a disservice by demanding either marriage or nothing. Sometimes the "all or nothing" approach isn't the best approach. If we could just focus on getting civil unions with equal rights, the rest is just semantics and can be worried about later on. I know there are many gay people like myself who have no problem at all with civil unions.
