No, MEN have far more problems having sex with a woman who is transgendered than women do. So, HE stands less chance of being dumped or having the hell beat out of him by some "he-man" or having jokes made about him than a man who switches to female. Speaking of out of date... But, if Chaz isn't "announcing" this for the sake transgender rights and awareness, then, unfortunately, I believe its mere personal PR (i.e. narcissism). But what I think doesn't necessarily reflect the ultimate truth of this, or any, situation. I don't know what I don't know.

I DO know that there are tons of counseling and psychiatric screenings done before this type of surgery is done.
