Howdy WG
Yes. I see nothing wrong with it. My birth certificate has the name Wilbur, but since the first grade I have used the name William, except when I was in the Army. I don't know to what degree the process of altering her body will make her a man. I know that through the use of hormones and surigical reconstruction(owww) a man's body can be altered to a reasonable facimile of that of a woman, though Ms. Garrison can not have a period, does not have a uterus and can not get pregnant. But I don't know if Chaz-Chasitiy can have her-his genitalia recontructed to a reasonable facimile of a penis.
I would say no.
No, we do not have to know. However maybe she-he is trying to let others with similar....predicatments know that they are not alone. Have A Thinking Day And May Reason Bless You P.S. One thing I like about these forums is that I learn about so many new things. I am a curious person and my curiousity was peaked by the term "ambiguous gentila. So I asked the internet goddess google. www.google.com/search?q=ambiguous+genita... I think the site below gave a good explanation but be warned that if you are either easily grossed out or excessively puritanical there are some pictures you may not want to view.

If Chaz hadn't come out about the surgery now, I can guarantee that the OP of this thread would have made an even bigger "scandal" out of it when the scumbag media broke the story. It would have been "Why try to hide it?" "Why not be honest if you're not ashamed?"... I've seen the m.o. of the OP of this thread and many other people everywhere. Like I said... I hope Chaz finally finds peace and happiness. I also hope judgmental boobs stop trying to decide what is "right" for full grown adults to do. "Right" or "Wrong" at least Chastity/Chaz has never been arrested and put on trial for pedophilia and has never paid off kids and their families for suspicious activities.

Tmairie says-- "If Chaz hadn't come out about the surgery now, I can guarantee that the OP of this thread would have made an even bigger "scandal" out of it when the scumbag media broke the story."
Asking for opinions and reactions is quite different than "making a scandal" out of something. When I posted this thread I was looking for a discussion of what people thought some of the issues might be. And that is exactly what this thread is. Any "scandal" would be in the mind of certain beholders. Svetlana mentioned raising awareness--which is exactly what I hoped this thread might do in relation to transgender issues. |

There's a thread about this on Christian to Christian Debate, and I will say roughly the same thing I said there... I'm not really concerned with the 'rightness' or 'wrongness' of any of it...I have no idea what it has been like to be Chaz, and can't begin to imagine. I just hope he and his family find peace and happiness in life. And an addition, I think it takes a lot of guts to even go through a lengthy and permanent transition such as this, much less be public about it. More power to Chaz, hopefully someone else in a similar situation with gender identity will see him and be encouraged to take the same steps, if that is what is needed to be okay in their own skin. You can't put a price on that.
More where that came from...

i can definitely relate to not feeling comfortable in my own skin - if there were a way to fix that i would love to find it but i am straight and have no gender issues i am all for gay rights because i am all for human rights and i happen to know and love some gay people i'm trying to be respectfully honest here: i don't get it frankly i don't want to know about his genitalia still i read this entire thread because i want to understand and i still don't get it am i being prejudiced if i just say "i give up - i don't get it?" - i love the "may reason bless you" thing

This thread was moved from the Hot Topics Zone. Note that while a relaxed (site-wide) ROC standard applied to the discussion on that forum, the tighter forum ROCs -- together with all local guidelines for this forum -- apply to discussion on this thread from this point forward.

Genitalia does not make or break a person. Has nothing to do with actual sexual orientation either. A penis does not a man make! A dildo well used can offer plenty of pleasure and some mental relief as far as gender identity goes. I am 2 spirit, have both male and female what have yous, I did not transition because I learned to manage as I am. My partner gets the best of both worlds. Penis reconstruction is very complicated and so far rarely functional and cost a bunch of money. Usually not covered by insurance. Constructing a vagina is simpler as they basically take the penis and turn it inside out and stick it back where it came from. Laymans terms. Women come with a clitoris. My closest friend transitioned, ftm and kept his clit! That trumps a penis any day. Yes, that makes one "female" yet really it is all in your head. I showed him how to "pack" and how to use a few toys. No "real" penis required. Total cost one weekend, and 125.00, for the toys and lube and condoms... and a little attitude adjustment. Yes he underwent major surgery, name change and loads of therapy plus testosterone. He is a man with a clit. He also has the best of both worlds. And now knows one does not need a dick to be a prick. :) When he finally realised that it was not about the almighty penis, he relaxed and really chilled. As far as Chaz, lol. He has the money, I suggest simply gender bending yet if he is gender dysphoric... good luck, it is manageable without surgery yet what do I know? Dar

I hope this is not off topic, but I sometimes wonder if we should all have both sets of equipment? I realize that it is mind games and stupidity that makes everyone want to be one or the other. Honestly I personally can not see why, beyond the male desire and some females too. To have control over others, to make others subservient. And Dar I agree a penis does not make the man. I hope all people with Gender identity issues find a way to make life better for themselves . Life should be joyful, for all of us. I wish it was.

Having lived with a transsexual, and having known very many, I really don't get it either, but neither do they. What I mean is that each of us knows what it's like to live within our own skins, but probably couldn't describe it another person. TS's live in their own skins, but have never lived in "appropriate" skins, so they can't describe the difference between what we "comfortable" ones feel and what they feel. No, I don't get it, my spouse and friends can't define it, so we just live with that and cope. I DO understand that they feel enormous discomfort and pressure, and SOMEthing must be done to help them live at peace with themselves. The bottom line is that no one really understands this, so we just have to come to terms with its existence and treat TS's as well as we expect to be treated ourselves. It really is that simple.
