Hey all.
Yep we really jumped the broom. May 19. Simple and lovely and it took 1 fellow dyke and 20 people to keep me from cooking/grilling and as many to keep G.L. focused too! I forgot it was OUR wedding! My buddy dyke dressed me... something old, something new, something borrowed... something blue. I am keeping the tie! And shirt. Borrowed and blue. :) G.L wore a traditional Malaysian outfit that was stunning. My boys held the broom and our vows were very simple. When I figure out how to down load the fotos I will share. Food was amazing and I found out that others can and will do things I never imagined, like clean up! All I had to do was ask. Go figure! We asked folk to write little notes and hide them, so we will be finding them for months perhaps years. We found a few, very funny. One was taped in the bathroom! Oh and the flowers. I am allergic to everything yet love beauty and have a sense of humor, woke up the morning after and our home looked like an Irish wake. To keep things simple, I took on the flowers. I did the only thing I could think of, scissors, vases, large box of tissue, and a beer. and away from G.L. ...lol. She cleaned everything inside and I sneezed outside. Now our home has flowers all over the place, absolutely clean, and I have gone through 2 full boxes of tissues and was told I am a cute drama queen. giggle. :) New Mexico was fantastic too. Home fires are still buring. Dar |

Ok, You all, Here I am late and nesting. Home fires are burning, anyone got matches? Latest weird stuff is Me and G.L went to AARP conference in N'Awlens. I am still laughing about that one. We took a whole week, intrusted my sons to home and cat and off we went. This was for the over 50 crowd... for every AARP member. I got to meet Martina Navrotalova; twice and had her sign her book, Kate Clinton, who remembered me back in the day, when I worked with her mate before don't as don't tell, that was very funny, and I got to drum with Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead! Along with 450 other people who still remember... AWESOME! That is when us old fogies switched gears and discussed something other than insulin, high blood pressure and hip replacements. :) . I started laughing when we landed. We had free drinks, ( the colorful kind), all the rich cajun butter rich food one can eat and free shuttle service everywhere. And, if we wanted to smoke and cross the street on our own, EMS was right there. Living well was on the agenda. After the first free drink we got memory supplements. I am serious! Security was tight though, Mr. Ryan was there. I actually made it through security, noting which exit was closest to bathroom... I laughed and had to go! G.L and me left after 4 minutes of his opening mouth, looking for food not soaked in butter, they deep fry sushi there too. At least it was fresh fried and not clueless. The mortitions were waiting. No one died on that trip, one tripped and broke his nose, not drink related, sidewalk impaired. Then there was the gay part. Over thousands of exhibits, only one flew the rainbow flag. Gay Male, travel group for very wealthy gay men. The only OUT group with a working session about elder gay rights was attended by about 40 out of about 5000. We were the only group with a proper reception and live entertainment. Made it intimate. :) Is an issue, tho and I will work on while digesting dom. rights. Here was the even funnier part, bless My G.L., for noticing, A concert by Melissa Ethheridge, Stevie Nicks, And Gladys Knight and at least 1 PIP. She noticed it appeared to be a girls night out... all ARRP old gals and guys who brought these folk OUT! She noticed this while going to the, 'loo". She said, " they all look gay! even the men!!" "oh sweetheart." She has got some learnin' to do. We were safely shuttled out of the concert, lol. 1 Person brightly colored every 5 feet to be identified by the memory impaired. We are safely back, home intack, and G.l boss want her to be glbtq corp. liason for a week long "gay friendly" job environ, complete with what that actually means. She just found out we are still not equally recognized by the Fed. I tried to sooth her raw nerves. At 62 she had no idea what I have been living with , and she, being Chinese had no idea.either. Anyone have warm fires ? Went a little long, had a lot to say . Peace all. Dar |

Sounds like fun. We've had a busy couple months. Down to the beach in Florida with the kids and grandkids, where we were having a wonderful time until my husband got the call that his dad had died. Still, it was nice we were all able to be together. My husband told stories about grandpa. Our SIL proposed a toast to him, and our 3 yo grandson joined in the toast with his sippy cup. We also went to Chicago a couple weeks ago and saw Kinky Boots. Awesome show! I actually couldn't wait to jump up and give a standing ovation--although it is humbling when a guy looks better in a dress and moves better in heels than I do!
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard was not what I meant...

((RE and family)) Home fires are still burning though. I can lend you my cat. The second temp drops below 40 she is on a lap or chair nose tucked under tail. We are in high shcool wonderland. Youngest lettered in Varsity cross country and oldest is now science geek exrtodinaire. First jock in my family ever running for the heck of it and first geek loving every minute of it. Both Honors and both 6 ft tall! 5 ingrdient night has turned gourmet.:) Last night we had tilapia in a dijon mustard sauce with massaged kale salad. Yep massaged kale salad. Oh and hand dipped blueberries in chili dark chocolate over vanilla ice cream. I did something right. All this was a boo hoo thing, 'cuz I fell and reinjured old news. fractured right elbow, and am currently typing one finger at a time, left handed as I am in a straight arm brace, they would not give me a gay one. :) I can't reach my mouth with my eating hand and my left has already caused trouble. lLife in the slow lane. Peace all. Dar |

drakkoby. Yes I am still doing 5 ingredient night, now it is local, sustainable, organic, seasonal, farm to table. :). A dream of mine , coming true and my dear boys are getting it! How about them apples? What do you get with five soft boiled eggs, milk, flour, a bit of cheese and bresad? Eggs gratin. :) Talk about teaching kids something useful. Eggs. Add 5 to 6 eggs to colld water in a pan, bring to boil, cover take off heat. while they are cooking, blend 1 TBS flour with your fav. oil. blend until, you can no longer smell flour, takes about 2 min. slowly add milk or cream, and keep stirring, or whisking, add cheese if you want. Toast some bread, cut into sticks to make it look fancy, after about 7 or 8 minutes, plop eggs in ice water. Under cold running water crack and peel eggs starting at fat end. Place whole eggs in cassorole dish, cover with sauce and cheese if you want, place under broil for 2 min, serve with toast. eggs may be a little runny, if you like them firmer cook longer. 5 ingredients got upgraded. 6th ingredient, fruit is optional. Peace all Dar |

LOL 5 ingredient night, now it is 3 , meat, starch and something green for the boys and for me and G.L.? I do believe we have curried everything, and now I know haow to "satay", HOT! and mastered th art of carving a pineapple and opening a coconut. Home fires are currently a gas lit fire place. Pillows everywhere and blankets that smell like soap. Lavendar old lady soap. The only real "gay" thing in our home is nothing is straight. :) That means every thing has a simple twist to it. An odd flower, or a pink cat statue with sun glasses, salt and pepper shakers of the eccentric type, ( think funky), retro stuff and music. You all are still welcome. Bring a dish, or dish... Peace Dar |
