Thank you Beliefnet_community.

Welcome to the Family & Parenting forum.  This board is for discussing parenting, family, and/or education issues.

I’m mlyons619, your Beliefnet Community Host.  I’m a family man, with my spouse of almost thirty years, four grown children (plus two grandchildren), and a thirteen year old pomeranian.  I am also a master special education teacher.  I am a regular poster on this board, and I am looking forward to interesting and educational discussions here.

Please remember that this forum is open to ALL here.  That means some of you will have strongly held ideas on what is good parenting and good education, which others may strongly disagree with.  That’s okay.  However…disagreeing without becoming disagreeable is an absolute necessity here! Please be courteous to others here with whom you do not agree, even if you find their views offensive. You are invited to make your case or refute other views, but please focus on discussing ideas and do not make negative comments about other members.  Debate ideas, opinions, positions, interpretations, etc., not individual posters!

There are a few topics which do not belong on this board. To discuss abortion, please visit Abortion Debate.  To discuss homosexuality, please visit Sexual Orientation Discussion.  You may discuss your religious views only as it relates to your views of family, parenting, and/or education, but please do not use this fporum to proselytize, or attempt to use religion to personally condemn or attack other posters.

To avoid having your posts removed, please read the Rules of Conduct before posting.  It is also important to avoid quoting a post that breaks the rules. When that happens and the post that violated one of the Rules of Conduct  is edited or removed, posts that quote or refer to the removed post end up being edited or removed as well.

If you have any questions, send a private message to me and I'll do my best to answer your questions. That's a very important part of my job as board moderator and host.  You can also post about tech issues, and raise questions, on the Beliefnet Knowledgebase Group.  The group is open to everyone; it's a good place to compare notes with fellow members.

And, as ever, you can always email your tech questions and complaints to the Beliefnet_community profile or to community@beliefnetstaff.com.

Thanks,

mlyons619,
Beliefnet Community Host, Family & Parenting Forum
