Here is the situstion. This student is a cancer survivor. When he heard that the sister of a friend of his had cancer, he wanted to grow out his hair to donate to the girl so she could have a wig. Problem- the school has in its dress code against boys having their hair past a certain length. So he was suspended. Even after he and his mother explained the situation, they still upheld the suspension. This saddens me. A teenager who is doing something selfless is essentially told that because his selflessness breaks the dress code rules, it is invalid, and not worthy of his kindness and time. I hope they change their mind. Here is the article:
