Does this thread ever end or does it just go bitching on into eternity? |

And all liberals are against eating sugar now? =P
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells. For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gloaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword. - J.R.R. Tolkien |

As for the the matter of the vilifying of "Junk Food Junkies" and other people who do not fit into the Left's paradigm; it is a pet peeve of mine. For the Left or even the Right to do this, it assumes a moral superiority which does not exist. Not only is this presumptuous and arrogant, it assumes that one position is totally good and the other is utterly evil. With such a mindset, compromise, consensus or even coexistance is not only impossible but they are abhorrent to both extremes. A lot of imagination is not required to see the conflict that'll bring.

All I have to say is to quote a line from an enjoyable movie called "A walk in the clouds":

Jeeze, what a bunch of wusses! Talk about mealymouthed wimps! Boo hoo - If I can't have my twinkies life isn't worth living. Wah, wah, wah - Don't anybody take away my coke and Sprite and my hostess Ho Hos or I'll kill myself. Rabello and arielg - How in hell can you read some of this crap without wanting to puke? You must be laughing every time somebody posts some more nonsense and at the same time shaking your head in wonder that people can be so dumb. To honestly believe that life without granulated sugar treats is no fun is to be either a fool or an idiot - or both. Or, maybe the dingbats posting all this nonsense about having their precious treats really don't care if they develop a horrible disease like diabetes, which is like having syrup running through your veins? I've known a couple of people with diabetes and they would do just about anything not to have it.

I am calling the ill-educated, fanciful, interpretations of their hard work hysterical and mythical. Take a course on human biology and nutrition, then get back to me.

Ha ha. It's already published. The Feb 2nd edition of Nature -- a peer-reviewed, internationally renowned, scientific trade journal. If you had read the article you would have known the date. You can google the topic and find articles about it published in a myriad of places, include Time dot com and New York Times
Obviously you didn't read the article. There have been no "interpretations" posted here. However, you can continue to make yourself look silly by posting off topic rants. No where in that paper, or on this thread, is the claim the "sugar" causes "diabetes." You are the only one who has brought that non sequitor onto this thread, because you didn't read the article. Makes no difference to me if your posts are not germaine.
I've taken many "courses" in "human biology" and "nutrition" and I'd be willing to be it's more course than you've taken, esp biochemistry. Be careful who you put down. I don't know how long ago you took your courses, but your posts sound like they came from Biology for Non Majors, and I'd be willing to bet my education in "human biology" is more current than your's. |

No, it's just that some non-liberals on this board are "against" solfeggio, that's all. Why roodog thinks a scientific report in a scientific journal is equivalent to denying GLBT their civil and human rights, he'd have to answer. When people refuse to read an article that is presented for discussion because they don't like -- dare I say, hate -- the poster, all kinds of off-topic cr*p is going to get flung against the wall. |
