This just happened, so it qualifies as a 'hot' topic. But, unlike a lot of these hot topics, it's good news, not bad, and I got a big kick out of it.
A New Jersey woman has given birth on the subway in New York City. It was a fast labour, and all went well. The train had to skip a few scheduled stops so that they could get the woman and her baby to Manhattan where they were transported to hospital.

Good news! I do delieve it's "fast labour", and so glad that all went well!!!

I don't think she should be allowed to have a baby on the subway because some people might find it embarassing or distasteful or sexy...
Good point. The minute she went into labor she should have been tossed off the train and arrested for indecent exposure.

One of my friends gave birth in an elevator. Why should could not make it to the lobby I don't know but that baby came so fast it all happened in the elevator. There was a woman riding in the elevator with her at the time. The woman was a stranger but the two became friends very fast when this spontaneous birth happened.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard was not what I meant...

Newark, Hoboken Chelsea , 33rdSt, PATH, I have ridden part that route From NYC to Little silver
They got on at Harrison and Off at the 33rd St Station Hoboken and Chelsea are two stops I remember, it has been 30 years ago
Then it's Harrison or Hoboken. That's better than Jhatpat, Hindi for 'fast'.

heehee.....pregnant women in CA have been known to believe they are entitled to drive in the commuter fast lanes because there's two people in the car!
It's this entitlement society.
On the other hand, take the so-called Right to Life's beliefs to their logical conclusions, and we'd all have to agree, pregnant women should pay for the fetus' ride. But the anti choice people stop caring as soon as the baby is born.
Now, we have to choose a name for the baby. Wheel? Trolly? What stop was the kid born closest to?

Ha-ha-ha! "A fast labor..." I bet it was! How fast was the train going? =)
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells, While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gloaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword. - J.R.R. Tolkien

Oh great. Now this woman thinks she is entitled to have her baby ride for free. Did she pay for it when she got on the subway?
