Yay Jake!

Democrats think the glass is half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

Here is Barton. He just arrived today and is currently in his private quarters on the third floor, waiting to be introduced to Sam and Orestes (who are very much aware that he is here). According to the person who rescued him, he is very affectionate and friendly when not nervous because of moving to a new place.

He was rescued from a third floor ledge of Barton Hall at Temple University—hence the name. He is midway between Sam and Orestes in size, though closer to Sam.

Barton has come out from under the bed, and his personality seems to be pretty much as described—he immediately curled up on my wife's lap, rolled on the floor for a tummy rub, and purred very loudly.

The photo is a pretty good likeness, but his fur is more luxuriant than the picture shows. We'll get some more pictures when he is really settled in and post them. He is quite a soft, cuddly guy.

Wow, he made himself at home, didn't he?  That is really great.  I never would have dreamed he would have come around THAT fast.  It looks like he is where he belongs.

Formal introductions to Sam and Orestes have not yet happened. Sam is mostly interested in supper. Orestes does seem to be interested in Barton.

This might be the easiest introduction we've had, but you never know with cats.

Cats usually work it out.  Some faster than others but they usually do work it out.
