It used to be printed on the backs of the brown sugar boxes.  Now it's nowhere to be found.  I periodically surf the web but to no avail :-(

I loved that recipe ... and I made some damn good gingerbread with it, too.

Anybody know where I can find it?  Anybody have it?  Anybody want to share it?

Do I sound desperate?  That's because I am Tongue out

Merope,

I actually work with C&H Sugar and was hoping I could help :) I'm not sure if this is the exact gingerbread recipe you were looking for but I did find this one in an old C&H cookbook.

Jean’s Gingerbread

1 cup packed C&H Golden Brown Sugar
One half  cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon each  baking soda and salt
1 teaspoon each ground cinnamon and ginger
One-fourth  teaspoon ground cloves
One-half cup light molasses
One-half cup boiling  water
C&H Powdered sugar

Preheat over to 350 degrees.  Grease a  13x9x2 inch baking dish.  In large bowl,
Beat brown sugar and butter until  fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time.  Combine flour,  baking soda, salt and  spices.   In small bowl, blend molasses and water.  To brown sugar mixture,  alternately add molasses and flour mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
Scrape batter into pan.  Bake 30 – 40 minutes until toothpick inserted in  center comes out clean.   Cool in pan on rack.  Cut into 12 pieces.  Sprinkle  with powdered sugar.  Serve warm or cooled.   Optional: top with sweetened  whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Let me know if this is the one you were looking for :) Happy Baking!

Wow, Teresa!  You are a gem!

I think it might be the old recipe.  The ingredients (especially the number and combination of spices) look right, as I recall, as do the proportions and the blending of the molasses with the boiling water.

Oh, goody!  I'm going to try it out.

Thank you Kiss
