I realized one advantage of homeschooling that I had not thought of. Homeschooling can be (at least somewhat) taylored to the student. I mean more so then going to traditional school/ private school. Most parents have few enough children for this to be possible. With large classrooms, while they have to taylor the education somewhat for students, IMO it likely cannot often be as taylored for the students as possible. Imagine a student was way behind in simply one subject (say math) but at grade level for all other subject or something.

I am subscribed to a yahoo group called unschooling dot com. One person posted a message where she said that one of heer children is in traditional school/ public school because that child needs the structure of school to thrive. That made me realize that we can't paint schooling with a broad brush and say that all schooling forms other then x are always bad or should not be used. Sometimes kids with thrive in one form of schooling but not another.
