As an athlete I know the value of control-release and I know that most athletes in ANY sport practice that. It's what most training is about--the "feel" of doing it the right way.
Btw--if football players REALLY were as unable to control themselves as you try to indicate--there would be a LOT more dead players on the field every Sunday. |

Appy--hi. I'd be especialy interested in your ideas on this-- --Do you think there would have been as much of an outcry if Vick had been involved with cockfighting instead of dog fights? What do you think?

Mlyons If you come across an e-mail contact for Laurie, the owner of the Eagles please post it here. The man is a hypocrite, claiming to be a dog lover and hiring a sociopath who tortured and killed dogs for no reason. I am shocked at the lukewarm response by dog owners. |

Rather doubt I'll be able to come up with Laurie's personal e-mail, but until I do, why don't you e-mail the Eagles website on the link I provided? The team's publicist will get the messages and if he gets overwhelmed that fact will be communicated to Laurie...

I want to see good football! And I love football. I attend church and God is forgiving. So why so much hate?? WHAT IS THE REAL DEAL?? I want to attend the first game and the Atlanta game. "all but two of the dogs"? Did you pay any attention AT ALL when this was in the news? He KILLED young dogs, with his bare hands. He would grab them by the head and snap their necks. He did NOT rehabilitate "all but two", he used his BARE HANDS to kill pups. Do you know how vile and putrid a soul has to be to kill an innocent living thing bare handed?

Gotta go with you on this one. I can't change what happens often but I don't have to like it either. Angelfeather I read you profile. I like this: All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. (Cecil Frances Alexander 1818-1895) James Herriot cited this in all his books, all of which I have read. For me a Christian would think like this. Michael Vick was convicted of an interstate crime--Federal--not cruelty to animals, a local or state crime, on some kind of plea. Many of have read and followed this. For me letting him back in the NFL is a blot on them. And I love football, pro and college. My three children are all grads of GA TECH and we're big Jackets fans. Others in my s-i-l's family are UGA Bulldogs.

If Kobe can still play pro-basketball, Phelps can still swim, so should Vick be able to play pro-football. Or, you can write the pro-leagues and ask them to treat pro-sports like high end jobs (complete background checks and one strike you're out type deals). Somehow I just don't see them agreeing to that. |
