I am thinking about buying a Mantis Tiller.  My soil is rather hard and difficult to work with and as I get older I find that I am less interested in working it and thus don't plant as much as I would otherwise.

Do any of you use a tiller?  Pros?  Cons?  Recommendations?

I recall reading that a rotary hoe was only for light soil. Mine is heavy clay! So I use a mattock.

I just bought a weed pick. I had been making slow progress weeding the gravel footpath in front of my house.

The weed pick was cheap. And so its head often comes loose from the handle. Nonetheless I find it very useful. For the clay soil feels like rock!

I dug out rocky clay and builder's rubble (roof tile). To do that, I found the hand-pick inadequate! So I resorted first to a mattock, and then to a trenching bar!
