I don't know about anyone else, but I often refer to my pets by nicknames, depending on their current mood or some other characteristic.  For example, L.B. has several: Mr. Fuzzy Pants, Fuzzy Britches, Ookaboo (or Ookaboo Kitty), My Furry Son, My Little Lion, My Tiny Tiger, and when he really gets on my nerves "CAT!".  Squeak had several as well, with variations that formed a single long name: Miss Squeaky The Flying Squirrelly Girl.

What nicknames do you give your critters, and how did they come by such monikers?

Magellan is Jelly Bean and he LOVES that name.   He always gets it when he exasperates me so that might be part of it.  Anything tied with some drama thrills the boy.  He is a drama king.

Ophelia is Feely Girl.  Yoda Boy is Pipsqueak.  All of them have their names prefaced by Miss or Mr.

Orestes is Fluffy Dude, but for family only. Sam is just Sam. Bud is Old Bear sometimes, although mostly he is just Bud.

Let's see:  Padfoot is Paddaters, Sebastian is Subabba, Bastain or Babbers, Mr. Gray is Gray Ba*tard,  Boodlebear is Boo-bear, Bear-bear, Fu-Fu is no longer living (she ran away and I haven't seen her for 2-3 weeks) but she was Fer-Fers. The others don't really have nicknames.

I am sorry about Fu-Fu.  I lost three favorite cats that way and it was awful.  I will always feel bad about it.

My cats:  Riley is Mr. O'Riley or my handsome young gentle man (he's a tuxedo.)  Maggie May is either Baby Girl or my little magpie.  Frasier is either Fwasia-Man or fluffy cheeks.  Niles is the baby boy.

My mom's pets:  Butch (the dog) is Butchie Wutchie or just Butchie Woo (he's not so butch really... kinda whiney but he's cute.)  Elwood (the other dog) is Little Dude or just Dude.  My mom has a few bad adjectives for Bubba the cat when he gets into trouble, but he's been dubbed the Old Man (he's 16 & arthritic).  Spud the cat is either Spud Muffin or The Muffin Man.  And Vinnie the bird is usually Vicious Vinnie when he's being mean or VINCENT when he's being loud.

Limpy: "Limpy-Bimpy" , "my little poo-bear" (she's round and cuddly)

Beauty: "a real Beaut!" or "dogenstein"  (usually said when she's mis-behaving).  I called her "cutie" once and she just looked at me with confusion.  Hey, it rhymes!

Irene.

Ophelia is "Ophie", "Ophie Girly", "Niddle Ophie-Leeah" or "Little Miss Orange and Stripey".

Kirin is "Roo-Rin", "Rin-Roo", or frequently just "Roo".  She's also known as "Baby Girl".

Licorice is "Ricci", "Reech-Girly", "Beautiful Gurrl" or "Beautifuls".

Nimue is "Nimmy", "Nimmy Noodles", or just "Noodles".  When she's misbehaving she's "Nim-Nuts".

Hershey is "Hersh" or "Hersh-a Lersh-a".

I wish I could say those silly names were the result of children, but alas, they're all from me!  :o
