Hi!
So I thought I'd start a thread about thanksgiving memories..GOOD ONES!
I dont wanna hear any whine bag "I burned the turkey so my mom didnt love me" stuff.
Do ya have any GOOD memories..stuff that moved you?
Here is one of mine....
So it's late april....everyone is sad cuz a very old woman had passed away..yet here it was the last part of april..almost thanksgiving day!
So then folks gathered in our village...we cant have a happy holioday with this looming over our heads.....
So then..her life was celebrated as part of May Thanksgiving!
Great idea!
Hey folks..we only have four thanksgiving days a year...so we need to make them count...
Oh yeah..most folks have only one...not very thankful..but not everyone is from my culture.
so then..to those of you who have only one day of thanks.....what is your fondest memory?
What will you do to make thanksgiving a day of  actual thanks with your kids?
Steve.

Since it's still Thanksgiving weekend and I just saw this..
I'll bite.~

We  all say  exactly what we are thankful for, in my home.
Be it " God &Jesus" (my gr/dgt.)..
To "Everything" (her Mom,My oldest,..Kai)

I.  am thankful for many things myself.
health, home and for the most part happy in life.

My Mom started it in her house so..

Just sharing..

Steve,
question?
When and what are the other 2 Thanksgivings does your culture celebrate.

Just curious,
peace ..
Kim

Oh and my son-in-law cleans up!
nice..

Come Back to Us Barbara Lewis Hare Krishna Beauregard
©John Prine[INDENT]   The last time that I saw her
She was standing in the rain
With her overcoat under her arm
  Leaning on a horsehead cane
She said "Carl, take all the money"
  She called everybody Carl
  "My spirit's broke"
  "My mind's a joke,"
  "And getting up's real hard"
   Chorus
  Don't you know her
  When you see her?
  She grew up
  In your back yard
  Come back to us
  Barbara Lewis
  Hare Krishna
  Beauregard
   Selling bibles at the airports
  Buying Quaaludes on the phone
  Hey, you talk about
  A paper route
  She's a shut in without a home
  God save her, please
  She's nailed her knees
  To some drugstore parking lot
  Hey, Mr. Brown
  Turn the volume down
  I believe this evening's shot
   Repeat Chorus
Can't you picture her next Thursday?
Can you picture her at all?
  In the Hotel Boulderado
At the dark end of the hall
I gotta shake myself and wonder
  Why she even bothers me
  For if heartaches were commercials
  We'd all be on T.V.
   Repeat Chorus

says a lot..

May It Be lyrics
May it be an evening star

Shines down upon you

May it be when darkness falls

Your heart will be true

You walk a lonely road

Oh, how far you are from home

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)

Believe and you will find your way

Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)

A promise lives within you now

May it be shadows call

Will fly away

May it be your journey on

To light the day

When the night is overcome

You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)

Believe and you will find your way

Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)

A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

thanks..:p

EAGLES LYRICS

[SIZE=2] "Take It Easy"

Well, I'm running down the road
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on
my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine
Take It easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy
Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy
Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
my load, got a world of trouble on my mind
lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
don't let the sound of your own
wheels make you crazy
come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me, oh oh oh
Oh we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

AND I WAS THANKFUL..

hmm Thanks Giving is actually celebrated on the last Thursday in November I thought not April or May. hmm oh well.. The best ThanksGiving I remember was being with my family the whole family, well there were a few missing now that I think of it for some reason or another they were not there, but anyhow we went around my Moms Big Oak Table and each Gave thanks for what we had and said how we felt God had blessed us during the year and such, then a prayer was said before the meal usually by Mom but once in a while one of us others would offer to say it and Mom would let us. These ThanksGivings will sad to say no longer happen as Mom passed away last February. Rest in Piece Mom you deserve it!
