Hi!
So I thought I'd start a thread about thanksgiving memories..GOOD ONES! I dont wanna hear any whine bag "I burned the turkey so my mom didnt love me" stuff. Do ya have any GOOD memories..stuff that moved you? Here is one of mine.... So it's late april....everyone is sad cuz a very old woman had passed away..yet here it was the last part of april..almost thanksgiving day! So then folks gathered in our village...we cant have a happy holioday with this looming over our heads..... So then..her life was celebrated as part of May Thanksgiving! Great idea! Hey folks..we only have four thanksgiving days a year...so we need to make them count... Oh yeah..most folks have only one...not very thankful..but not everyone is from my culture. so then..to those of you who have only one day of thanks.....what is your fondest memory? What will you do to make thanksgiving a day of actual thanks with your kids? Steve. |

Since it's still Thanksgiving weekend and I just saw this..
I'll bite.~:eek: We all say exactly what we are thankful for, in my home. Be it " God &Jesus" (my gr/dgt.).. To "Everything" (her Mom,My oldest,..Kai) I. am thankful for many things myself.:rolleyes: health,home and for the most part happy in life. My Mom started it in her house so.. Just sharing.. Steve, question?:confused: When and what are the other 2 Thanksgivings does your culture celebrate. Just curious, peace :cool:.. Kim Oh and my son-in-law cleans up! nice.. |

Steve.[/QUOTE] hmm Thanks Giving is actually celebrated on the last Thursday in November I thought not April or May. hmm oh well.. The best ThanksGiving I remember was being with my family the whole family, well there were a few missing now that I think of it for some reason or another they were not there, but anyhow we went around my Moms Big Oak Table and each Gave thanks for what we had and said how we felt God had blessed us during the year and such, then a prayer was said before the meal usually by Mom but once in a while one of us others would offer to say it and Mom would let us. These ThanksGivings will sad to say no longer happen as Mom passed away last February. Rest in Piece Mom you deserve it! |
