Do you have any recipes for baked goods which are easy to transport, thus making them suitable for sharing with co-workers at the office?

Hi Shirley,
This recipe has been in my family since I was a girl. It's moist and rich - you can bake, frost, transport and serve it in the same pan! BLACK MAGIC CAKE 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 2 cups sugar 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 eggs 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup fresh milk with 1 T vinegar stirred in, if you don't have buttermilk) 1 cup brewed (or instant) coffee, cooled Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a rectangular (9 x 11) cake pan. Sift all dry ingredients together, add the wet ingredients. Beat by hand 2 minutes or with mixer on medium setting until well blended. Bake 35 - 40 minutes at 350 or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool, and frost if desired. Mom always made a light vanilla glaze with powdered sugar for this cake, I prefer chocolate frosting, myself! |
