Baji style is a style that is very cool looking, with suddent movements, like a spring retracts and shoot out to explodes it's power.  The forms are often done in low stances but some like it high, which way is good to go?

Going low in stance is supposed to be a natural thing and so you should not go "too low" for yourself. Know your standard and limits. Lower is NOT better.  Some people say you go low stance to get more strength and power for the legs, it's not right.  If you want strength, you need muscles and things to strengthen your internals.  That you need to go weight lift and do weight training isntead to be more effective and direct!  Don't waste your time using the wrong method to train!

Going high stance is not right either because this is a form that need some "planting". It's not wingchun!  So you need to go down abit.

The right stance for the form is supposed to be a little bit over the "normal" line for yourself. Everybody is different but you can know by feeling what is "normal" for you.  Then go a bit lower than that and it is good to go.

Don't forget, doing a form is a pleasure.  Enjoy the longer article below (in the link) and also enjoy my video demonstration of baji in the link!
