How do you discern if you receive an intrusion of thought or something comes across your mind- if whether or not it is the voice of God?  I do believe that the voice of God is the Bible, and scriptures tend to come to mind, however, I listened to a pastor who said that God told her to do this and to do that.   What do you suppose?

When people spend time with the Lord they get to discern what is of the Lord .God does not speak audibly to most . There is such a thing as Gifts of the Spirit of God .I did a Life in the Spirit Seminar years ago . Most mainline churches  give those seminars . For instance there is the gift of knowledge . A person knows from within her /his spirit that someone  needs healing of the right knee. That comes in different ways to different people . One may have a little blackboard in his mind . Written on it is right knee . Others its an impression AND THEY KNOW FOR SURE SOMEONE IS BEING HEALED . In a prayer meeting quite often more then one person get the same message

Thanks for your input.  There are times when a scripture is placed on my heart and then I come across the passage a little later- almost as if it is verification that I need to hear the passage.  I believe that sometimes God also tries to speak to us when there is more than one of the same occurrance.
