In August 2007, I was suddenly struck with a chronic headache. After examining me, a physician said that I needed to be hospitalized. In the hospital, after going through physical examinations and blood tests, I was diagnosed with six different illnesses. After being in the hospital for 11 days, I still had the headache. With the busy season on my farm approaching, I became so frustrated that I quarreled with the doctor in charge. I said, "You can't even cure my headache after 11 days, what's the use of staying in the hospital?" The doctor said, "Your different illnesses cannot be cured at the same time--there's no way your problems can be solved within a short period of time." Shortly after that, I received a phone call from a relative asking me to go to Beijing for treatment of my illnesses. I took his advice and went to the larger city.

It was so much more expensive to get medical treatment in Beijing. I spent 1,700 yuan just for the examinations. I only had 6,000 yuan with me. I was told that the most serious problem was lung cancer. I asked what it would cost to cure the disease, and the doctor said that it would be 20,000 to 30,000 yuan. I was shocked as it was impossible for me to get that kind of money. I said, "Forget about the treatment for I don't have the money." The doctor said, "It's okay you if don't have money--I can help you." I said, "Why do you want to help me? I don't even know you. Your help costs so much money; I wouldn't be able to pay you back in my entire lifetime. Thanks, but no thanks!"

As I was getting ready to leave the doctor said, "I can help you, there's no need for money." I said, "Nowadays injections and medicines are expensive. How could you help me without spending any money? I don't believe you." He then mentioned Falun Gong.
