"I did not walk the dog but I spent most of the morning chasing it, trying to catch it because every time I opened the door he ran out." Use a leash! |

Congrats, Irene! On the 14 weeks of non-smoking! You are such a trooper! A super star! Keep up the good work! Barbara: My Mom has a dog (Blackie) that keeps us on our toes too. He, also, likes to run out every time the door is opened. He thinks that he is going for a car ride when the door is opened. Like I said, he keeps us on our toes. He still tries to sneak out every time we open the door and it's been almost a year since his last car ride. lol |

G'day iczbez:
"How ya all doing?" I've just showered after walking 9½ km around a mountain. That burned 1228 Calories in 1 hr 49 min. |

I'll start walking any day now. The snow and ice is almost gone. When it comes to ice, I stay as far away from it as I can. I'm eating well; lots of fruit and vegetables which is the only way to go. BARBARA, Is your mom ok? MELISSA, nice to see you on JOWL. Who knows, how it will go here. KARMA, You seem to be always on the move hiking and all. one day at a time, irene |

G'day iczbez:
"I'll start walking" What other exercise could you do? "I'm eating well; lots of fruit and vegetables" That's nice. "You seem to be always on the move hiking" I twisted an ankle yesterday. But I'm more concerned with insomnia now! |

Hello, Everyone! I thought I would pop in and let everyone know I am still here and still walking. I had to buy a new pedometer. The old one quit on me. It did it's job, I guess. I just wish it lasted longer than a year. My appointment with my bariatrician was disappointing. I gained 7 lbs. I don't know what I did or to the point what I didn't do to gain but I so don't want to do it again. I'm still on Alli for the next month at least. My next appointment is the 22nd of next month so I have until then to show some good results. But I was disappointed with myself. I'm looking at my habits and what I have been doing to see what I've been doing wrong. Maybe I just need to adjust something or add some more exercising or something. Or maybe I need to cut something out. I know I was depressed a lot last month (because of the anniversary of my sister's birth and demise coming up) and will be (probably) a little this next month but I thought I was dealing with it. Apparently not. I'll have to watch myself closer this month. |

MelissaHlovesGod:
"I gained 7 lbs." +3 kg is not good! "I was depressed" That would have contributed. How do you manage that? "will be (probably) a little this next month" You can forecast depression? |

Hi MELLISSA, I'm really sorry to hear that things are not going so well for you at this time. I don't know what I can really say. When it comes to weight reduction and we don't stay on top of it "all" of the time; any pay-off is short lived. I rehash the same numbers over and over again. Irene |
