Okay, I made it...come on gang! Let's get rolling on the NEW boards!!
Had a 3.0 pound weight loss for my first week w/Jillian Michaels. The muscle aches of the first few days have subsided, but I am aware that I am working out "differently". Those first few days with my calf muscles were pure misery. But I kept walking at lunch and they eventually loosened up. For 2 days I could not stand straight up out of a chair, and by wearing heels to work I was exascerbating the problem. But I'm all better now! Shoulders are a little tender as I type, but they got a pretty good work out this morning! Okay, Week 1 Stats I am posting the weekly average of my last 7 days - just for my information, and not to bore you guys to death. Wait, you haven't found this spot yet, so I'm not boring anybody! LOL Water: 82 ounces - 18 ounces below Average Daily Allowance (ADA) ~~ Calories: 1744 - 94 calories above ADA :) well within 100+/-! Protein: 103 grams - 21 grams below ADA ~~ Carbs: 198 grams - 33 grams above ADA :( Fats: 60 grams - 5 grams above ADA woo hoo! Sleep: 7.5 hours - goal ADA met :) Exercise: 70 minutes per day - ADA goal EXCEEDED! :) Weight: 194.4 - 49.4 pounds over goal of 145 - NOTICE THE 50 HAS BEEN BROKEN!! Cannot wait for Week 2! Be JOYFUL, Sandy DON'T ACCEPT COMPLACENCY (feeling of quiet pleasure while unaware of potential danger) |

Woo Hoo!!!! I made it to the new thread, thanks to you, Sandy, and your detailed instructions. I wonder what the difference is between the "quick reply" and the "New post." Guess we'll get this all figured out eventually.
I'm back home now and weigh less than 200 lbs. Yay Me!!! I weighed 198.8 this AM. OK so it's not much below 200 but nevertheless. LOL I'm impressed by your stats Sandy. Good job. I've been doing better with the water intake, too. I hope the rest of you find your way to the new thread. I'll go back and post over there, too. Celeste |

I'm not sure what I did but all of the sudden I am able to post a reply. This new board is confusing to me but I will figure it out. I'm thinking this reply will just be to Celeste. Congratulations on getting under 200 lbs!! I wish I could say the same but I have over 80 lbs to go to even get to 200. I'm hanging in there. I have to go. I am at work and duty calls. See you in the funny papers.

Sandy, if this board works the way my on-line college board worked you can reply to an individual (quick reply--everyone will still be able to read it) or you can address the group with a new post. Your weekly stats look good and way to go with that 3 lb. weight loss. I'm glad you stuck with the exercise long enough to work all the kinks out of your muscles. I hope everyone else will follow your directions and find their way here.
Theresa I WILL NO LONGER BE COMPLACENT! I WILL BE PRO-ACTIVE ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT. |

My car is sick in hospital for a lung (turbocharger) transplant. I have been for a week riding everywhere on a brand new recumbent tricycle. And I'm losing weight fast!

Karma, welcome to our weight loss discussion group. I hope you get your car fixed soon but you're right, riding a tricycle speeds up weight loss!! How much are you wanting to lose? My ultimate goal is 150 lbs. but I am working at it 50 lbs at a time. So far I've lost 9.4 lbs. If I stay on track I will lose 150 lbs by Feb. 28, 2009.
I look forward to interacting with you. Theresa |

Hello, JoWL Friends. I think I will like this site after all. I like playing with the different fonts and colors.:)
Here are my stats for the past 2 days. Oct. 15, 2007 Fluids: 82 oz--18 oz under goal Calories: 1521--within goal Fat: 80 gm--43 gm over goal Carbs: 137 gm--88 gm under goal Fiber: 8 gm--17 gm under goal Protein: 65 gm--10 gm under goal Oct. 16, 2007 Fluids: 63 oz--37 oz under goal Calories: 1936--236 over goal:eek: Fat: 102 gm--69 gm over goal:( Carbs: 176 gm--49 gm under goal Fiber: 19 gm--only 6 gm under goal, I'm improving:) Protein: 83 gm--12 gm under goal Well, I think I may have to re-evaluate my %'s. I read in a health magazine that 30% of calories should be fat (it did specify GOOD fat). The RDA for protein is 50 gms. The RDA for fiber is 30 gms. I am going to take a look at the food pyramid and figure what the healthy %'s of each food group will be. Sandy's new system is working for her so I hope to follow the leader. Theresa |
