As moderator I mostly keep out of people's way on this board,
but I wanted to extend a very heartfelt and sincere welcome to Beliefnet's new home,
and especially here in the Spirituality and Mental Health forum.

If in the coming days if anyone has questions or runs into problems using the new facilities,
please don't hesitate to contact me, and I will do my best to help.

And, raising my glass of mineral water to this rich new cyberspace,
borrowing from the Irish (my given name is Gaelic),
I offer this blessing on each of you...

May you always have walls for the winds,
a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
and all your heart might desire.

Peace to all.

Thanks for the introduction and offer of help, NHT.  This is going to be a bit confusing for me, but I'm willing to learn.

I'm posting mostly in the comboxes on Therese Borchard's blog these days, but it's still good to be able to discuss our various conditions (mine, for those who don't know me, being bipolar disorder) occasionally on the discussion forums as well.

PS -- If you click my name, you can actually see my face now!

I need a lot of help adjusting! Are the old discussion boards sidelined? I find everything complicated, screwy and just plain difficult. The login isn't remembered in my computer's password list. For security, I frequently trash cookies and clear the cache. This new site can't cope with that at all! It plays hell with my ad-blocker (won't work with that). I'm very disappointed. [Sigh]

Hi Karma,

You should report all those problems.
On the new fron page there is an area asking for people to report problems.
I will copy your problems down in case you can't find the area and I will report them for you.

Thanks--I have reported some issues that I have found. But at first my very process of interacting here, consisted of reporting and trying to work around bugs! [Sigh] Any help for people in adjusting to this new environment is welcome. I have a problem in that the display of otherwise simple text messages is bulky. That is, I cannot scan a dozen prior messages as quickly as I could before, when they were all bunched up together!

Howdy all -

*sounds of a cackling intercom*
This is your host speaking --
I'd been waylaid in all the confusion of the new site,
but managed today to find my way back here.

Karma, while I read where you were most disappointed when this new site first launched,
I just read a more recent post of yours on another thread
where you're quite excited now by the new site.
Can I rest assured that that means you 'vegot all your glitches worked out?

And Lap, if I take into consideration posts you've made elsewhere,
I'm assuming you've got it all together as well?

And last but not least, doxieman, it is good to see your face ...
what a handsome figure you cut!! I'm glad you haven't abandoned us to the blogs ...

And to any newcomer who happens by, it's very nice to have you with us -
if you're inclined, do tell a bit about yourself ...  we'd love to get to know you better.

So, that's it, folks -
I am back finally and will be stopping by now on my regular rounds.
Should anyone need me, feel free to contact me by clicking on my name to send a message.

Blessings to all -
*over and out*

I think we're all learning. I used to be able to display two windows side by side, one showing what I was replying to, and the other my response. I find the current setup `clunky' by comparison. Can you tell me any statistic or impression on the relative volume of posting since the move?

A cervical vertebra? Like a very advanced stage of pain-in-the-neck?

I have done a humongous amount of user-testing here. There is much to learn. Try work-arounds for the problems.
comboxes on Therese Borchard's blog
I was afraid that this new system would destroy general debate!
