My favorite piece of advice is from my mom:
"When you get married and your husband turns 40, exchange him for two 20's"

That's cute Dena, lol! Beside's the "always wear clean underwear in case you're in an accident", lol, I guess I'd have to say "Finish what you start".......I'm a procrastinator and it must have started early! Sandy
"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of Eternal Life" "Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

When you think you are the lowest point in life, look around for a bit you'll always be able to see someone that has less or is hurting more than you.

I am loving all the advice from other's parents!Sounds just like my own to me....
Besides "Always wear clean underwear..." which HAS to be the most often heard admonition around our house since Mom & Daddy ALWAYS had foster kids, the BEST advice my parents gave was, "Always remember your kids are like monkeys. They will always repeat what they see you do, because spoken language doesn't mean the same thing going IN their ears that it means (to you) coming OUT of your mouth, but they clearly understand what they see you DO!" As a mom & a school teacher, this advice has been priceless! Daddy told me Shakespeare wrote, "What you do speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you say!" I would say that these two pieces of advice have been the inspiration for the way I have raised my kids and dealt with my students every day for the last 28 years.
