I truly agree. Two weeks ago, my father was at the verge of death in the ICU. He has been suffering from laryngeal cancer in its advanced stage. We brought him to the hospital after he started bleeding through the nose, mouth and his tracheostomy. The bleeding was continuous for two days. We had to look for donors so that we can replace the bags of blood that was being transfused to his body.
I went inside the ICU while he was bleeding. I saw the fear in his eyes. Although conscious, he could not speak because of his tracheostomy. But no words were needed to see that he was very scared. It was like Daddy knew his time to meet the Lord has come. Until I talked with him.
I told Daddy to ask for God's healing hands to touch his body. I convinced him also to ask the Lord to help his mind control his body. I told him that his mind is very powerful...that his body will listen whatever his mind will direct it to do. I suggested that he direct his body to stop the bleeding. I stressed the importance of believing that with God's immense power and with his powerful mind, the bleeding will stop.
Lo and behold, that night, Daddy did not bleed anymore. Even his doctors were surprised of this event. The night before Daddy stopped bleeding, I had a conference with his doctor and the latter even suggested that I should make my mother come home to the Philippines because Daddy can pass on anytime. What the doctor did not know is that the healing power of the Lord, our faith, and Daddy's mind can avert what they (the doctors) could not stop.
It was amazing. It is true that we are indeed made according to God's likeness. And if we use our minds in its fullest potential, coupled with anunwavering faith in the Almighty, even the lost causes find salvation and hope.
