I realize I missed an anniversary of someone who's very dear to me!  This fine woman decided to be clean and sober 29 years ago:  25 August 1980   Despite assorted temptations, she hasn't had a drink or an unprescribed medication in all these past 29 years.  She's talked people through some episodes of bad depression, sponsored a number of women in AA, gone to prisons to do outreach, re-trained herself for a new career, survived a sometimes-abusive marriage, a miserable working situation,  and her husband's sudden tragic death,  ALL WITHOUT TOUCHING A DROP!

She doesn't think she's anything so special - But I sure do : ))  I'm so very glad that such a wonderful person as she's made herself in the past 29 years is in my life.

This lady is indeed one of my heroes : ))
