carrie, praying for your son's gf that she recover from the heart surgery without complications. Also praying for yur brother Chad's family. Danny got chantix a couple of years ago but never used it. When my friends shared their cancer diagnosis I begged him to quit. He told me "I don't think I can." I am sorry you are feeling like you are going down. Are you on a mood stabilizer now? (((Carrie)))
Nance, sorry you are going thru a lot also. I had a cone biopsy of the cervix in my doc's office. OMG! Never again. Nothing like experiencing have something cut out of you. Why is your son going 6000 miles away? So you are also expecting the empty nest syndrome? hang in there. Joyce, that girl doesn't really give a flying fig. She knows but she has ceased to care. I remember she was doing well and you were impressed. Now she must think being fired can't happen to her. Invincable like a lot of young people feel. It's too bad the LR doesn't give her a reality check. Stacey, glad your household was calmer yesterday. I wonder what the laws are about that guy being around the school. I thought they weren't to live within so many yards from a school? That's scary. We are looking at another hot and humid day here. My s-i-l and b-i-l are on their way here to visit. Take care everyone. |

Today was a better day: It was just me and the trainee and the cook, a male who usually cooks on third shift, and is a good worker. Certainly much better than the woman I usually have to cope with on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As far as I'm concerned, the trainee is no longer a trainee, mostly 'cause I've given up. So, I turned her loose and then proceeded to basically ignore her unless she came to me with a question. Near as I could tell, she did fairly well. Good. We were a little bit busy, and I didn't sleep well last night, so, as usual, I'm whupped and bruised, lol. So, I just hope everyone sleeps well tonight and has a good Thursday...I know I will: I don't have to work!!! God bless.
Today is the day that the Lord hath made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Hey, all, how's it going? 89ºF here, much better than what Caren, and probably Stacey are dealing with at around 111ºF!! I couldn't stand that, wouldn't so much as open the front door, i don't think. As I've said many times before, thank God for a/c!!! Stacey, has your mood lightened up any? You said, "There is really nothing to be depressed about," and that's one of the characteristics of depression: It needs no reason to happen, it just attacks with no warning...and, no reason. No, I don't have any say at all over whether or not a server loses her job or gets to keep it, none. If I did, there are several who wouldn't be there now, lol. And some that aren't with us any more wouldn't have stayed as long as they did, either. Joycie, I think my trainee may have some issues, and I honestly think that fibro may be one of them. She seems to have no memory to speak of, and she wanders around in a fog a good part of the time...sort of like me, both now and when I was younger, before I'd ever heard of fibro. And dealing with her, I can understand my boss's attitude with me a little better, I guess. It's pretty frustrating to be telling somebody something and realize that they aren't even on the planet with you, or, they say ok, and then five minutes later have totally forgotten the conversation, sigh. It's just so hard to see somebody as young as she is doing it, tho, hard to realize that yes, fibro can attack at that age. She complains of back pains and headaches, also, and so did i at that age. Sooooo, I guess I should at least try to be a little more patient with her, altho she's really going to have to learn, on her own, to focus on the task at hand, and to pay more attention to what's going on around her...just like I've had to do. Dang. The LR simply reminds me that I'm dealing with a 16 year old(she's actually 17, but, close enough), and that they are on a different wave-length anyway. His daughter is 18, so he should know, lol. What are you knitting now? I hope you enjoy the visit with the bil and the sil. Carrie, how are you doing? Has the dark cloud covered you up or has it lifted somewhat? How many of your family are moving in with you? I hope the chantix works for you. And btw, you had asked when our peaches come into season, and I hate to admit it, but I'm not quite sure. I think it should be any time now. A couple weeks ago I found some decent peaches at Kroger, but they weren't Georgia peaches. Nance, when is your son leaving, and where is he going? If you've ever mentioned where, I apologize, I don't remember. This has to be so horribly painful for you, and I am so very, very sorry it turned out like this. Bless your heart, you have my heart. Karbie, that's so funny that your son's teacher was angry about his extensive vocabulary. You'd think she would've been pleased for him. I think it's great that he had such a good vocabulary. I've never minded being tipped in change, because yes, it all spends. Before I got my washer and dryer, of course I used a lot of it for doing laundry...it's handy for buying a newspaper out of the paper machine...it's handy for snack machines...and of course it can be taken to Kroger or Publix, poured into their machine, and turned into cash!! Change is how I bought this computer, in fact: Saved it up for close to a year, and cashed it in to the tune of about $450. Found a good deal on Black Friday, and voila: Brand new computer, bought from saving change!!! And yes, I'll stop on the street and pick up a penny, lol. Caren, how far is Phoenix from where you live(Surprise, right?)? I hope you and the preacher get to meet and that you both enjoy the experience. In the meantime, stay inside and away from that 111º heat!!! Katy, if you're reading, hope you're doing well...and you know I hope you like the new job. I do want to ask you what kind of new med are you on that works so well? So. Day off, lazy lazy lazy day...the bed and toilet have been taken care of, but i haven't bothered getting dressed. Slovenly, right? Ah, well, there's nobody but me to see it, lol, and i don't mind. There's a big pot of some heavenly smelling chili simmering on the stove, gonna have chili mac for supper with chunks of cheese, some soy-based sour creme, and bread and butter. And I'm starving, so I'll be glad when it's ready, in about another 30 minutes, I think. Hope everyone has a good evening and a good night's sleep...me, too, 'cause my last two nights were really awful. God bless.
Today is the day that the Lord hath made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Hi, everyone! It's 91ºF, too hot for my comfort zone, altho still not as bad as what Stacey and Caren are dealing with in Arizona. Even so, I'm glad I don't have to go out in it today. Tomorrow after work I have to go to K-Mart for prescriptions, to the library, out to eat(probably Golden Corral)and then to Aldi, and that's when the heat will bother me, no doubt. LibraryLady's husband had the a/c in her car fixed, but it's still not working right, so she can't use it. Sigh. At least when i finally come home, tho, I will be able to have my own a/c on. Marlene, glad you made the move ok, and am delighted that you're able to sleep well. Caren, Stacey, good afternoon, hope y'all are doing well. Stacey, I'm not on disability. I've been drawing social security retirement for close to three years now, but not disability. So no, I don't have any kind of benefits other than the medicare and humana, which i can start using on August 1st. Most of the time I only work three days a week, as I am semi-retired. This weekend is just something that happens once in a while. Did a load of laundry so I'd have a clean uniform tomorrow, washed the dishes, swept the kitchen floor, and of course the bed and the toilet have been taken care of. And yes, I'm dressed today, lol. And that's all I've got to say about that!~! So, hope y'all have a good weekend. God bless.
Today is the day that the Lord hath made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
