I have been pondering something for a while now.  My maternal grandmother had severe rheumatoid arthritis, which I read is considered by some to be an auto-immune disorder.  My mother has Crohn's disease, with some fairly severe rheumatoid symptoms on a secondary level.  And Crohn's is also an auto-immune disorder.  My arthritis is not rheumatoid, but osteo, however I have Metabolic Syndrome, which some are now saying is an auto-immune disorder.

Can the medical man here tell me if all of these things may somehow be related?
