I have some more questions. How do local bahai community worship together? Do bahai groups have some sort of weekly gathering or worship service. If so what is it composed of? Would a non Bahai be allowed to visit a local Bahai group? Is there a website with a dictoriy of Bahai spirtual assemblies? If not how would one go about finding if there are any bahais near them?
thank you Eddie |

This is a good question. I took the "belief-o-meter" test and it closely aligned my beliefs to the Bahai Faith. I had never heard of the religeon until I read of it here...

Yes, you will be welcome at meetings for worship, including the annual commemoration to the Martyrdom of the Bab, coming up on July 9, and celebrated around noon. Local communities usually have regular worship meetings, but not on a particular day. It might be on Saturday afternoons, or Wednesday nights, or something different every week, just depending on what the local community decides. If there's none at a time that suits you, just speak up : any two or three people who want to get together for worship and start, in a way that suits them, at a time that suits them. Do it in silence, or with greagorian chants, read scriptures, or sing along. There are also meetings that are just for enrolled Bahais: these are the "Feasts" that include a consultation on community affairs. There's a "feast" every 19 days, but not every feast includes the consultation. It's up to the local community; they can decide to have the "feast" without the consultation, and then they often call it a "unity feast." There are lots of National communities and local communities who have web sites, but you do not say where you are. Try the phone book, or look on http://www.europeanbahai.org/ http://www.bahai.us/ http://www.bahai.org/ go to "other bahai sites" on the right and then "worldwide community" and you will find contact details for about 80 countries go for it Sen |
