I don;t know if I even believe in Jesus, but if I was ot be a Christian, I think I'd be hppiest as an Anglican. I have a copy of the Book of Common Prayer, I've been to Anglican services dozens of times. I like the liturgy. I've read Rowan Williams and i think he's pretty fantastic (though I'm not that excited about Spong, I have to admit...).
Like I said, I don't know how Christian I am, but if I'm Christian, I think this is the kind I am. |

And I think, within that liturgical context, one is really free to be at any point along a broad spectrum of belief, including belief about Jesus. Liturgy is also important, IMO, because when we respond positively to it - in terms of liking it - that means it resonates at some deep level with us as "true." Not necessarily "factual," but "true," if you know what I mean. There's a lot to be said for Anglicanism as a "via media." Initially, that was conceived as a middle way between Puritanism and Catholicism. But I think one can also look at it as a middle way in which folks are free to hold varying beliefs at varying times in their spiritual lives. So I think Anglicanism is a nice place for people, such as yourself and many others, to locate and grow. It provides a nice grounding and a nice space in which we don't have to be "sure" about everything. [/COLOR]
