Although it would take forever to define all Christian denominations, there are some that stand out other than the Roman Catholic Church.

First is the Eastern Orthodox Church, which resembles Roman Catholicism.

Second, there is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  They believe Jesus has a bride and that they would be raptures according to the Book of Mormon.

Third is the controversial Watchtower Society of Jehovah Witnesses, which forbids celebrations.

Fourth is the Society of Friends, into whom the congregants are called "Quakers."  They do not hold sermons since they believe that the spirit of Christ is with them.  They are known for their pacifism.

Finally, there is the Unitarian Universalist Association, into which some of its congregants think they are non-Christian because the UUA has no creed save the Seven Principles.  They welcome those from all walks of life.

These are distinct from the mainstream because they have special beliefs.
