Either "attack" is NEVER real or it is ALWAYS real. It EXISTS or it DOESN'T. There can be no exceptions. You believe in attack or you don't. DO YOU??? |

Attack is a matter of perception. If we feel that we are a victim of circumstances and do not fully have the ability to deal with the issue at hand then we view ourselves as being attacked. If a situation occurs and someone is yelling at you and be belittling you, you can shift your perception and realize that you have the ability to deal with this situation and you can "choose peace instead of this" or proactively deal with the issue. I'm glad you came to your senses and left the atheist site. It was unwise for you to go there. Hopefully, you learned something about yourself and judgement. Here is the irony of the situation, you were viewed as the attacker. |

I agree, Myownpath, attack is only a PERCEPTION we have when we feel like VICTIMS. That's why I think it's so important to know that we create our own reality, and are not victims to anyone or anything. As Jesus says in the Course, "Salvation has but one law: that you realize you are doing it all to yourself."(not exactly verbatim, can't remember the page or I'd look it up) And yes, it was unwise of me to try to convince a group of atheists that God exists. Ya live and ya learn, right? lol |

To a mind that believes itself to be separate, to be a body, then attack is justified. for look at our bodies, frail and dying the moment it's born we deserve to attack to preserve it, to protect it. but to a mind who has joined with truth and sees everyone as one and the same. Seeing God and ones true Self in everyone, then the concept of attack is absurd. Why would you attack your Self? In fact one wouldn't recognize any attack at all

From the Course's point of view, we are spirit rather than bodies. A spirit cannot be attacked.
