in the spirit of sharing,
let's try something relatively safe  --

When I first found the shamanism forum 
in Beliefnet's original home many years ago,
folks often shared where their usernames came from ...

So...
with a tip o' me hat to the old forum,
I'll go first ...

Long ago before computers,
right after the dinosaurs disappeared,
Nay_ho_tze was given to me by a teacher,
who said that I would be needing another name soon.
At the time I had no idea what that meant.

Then I went online...

As to the word's meaning,
a dear friend from the old shamanism forum
did a linguistic search and discovered 
that it is an inadvertant perversion
(mispronounced by me)
of the Southwestern Pueblo Indian word for “woman.”

*takes a deep breath*

Well, that was relatively painless...

The first time I ever journed to the lower worlds I found myself standing next to a great bear who was sound asleep.  I stood there watching for awhile and then my awareness shifted and I was inside Bear experiencing his dream as he dreamed it.  In his dream we flew up together into the sky.  Thus the name Bearsky.  Dennis
