Okay ...
in the spirit of sharing,
let's try something relatively safe  --

When I first found the shamanism forum
in Beliefnet's original home many years ago,
folks often shared where their usernames came from ...

So...
with a tip o' me hat to the old forum,
I'll go first ...

Long ago before computers,
right after the dinosaurs disappeared,
Nay_ho_tze was given to me by a teacher,
who said that I would be needing another name soon.
At the time I had no idea what that meant.

Then I went online...

As to the word's meaning,
a dear friend from the old shamanism forum
did a linguistic search and discovered
that it is an inadvertant perversion
(mispronounced by me)
of the Southwestern Pueblo Indian word for “woman.”

*takes a deep breath*

Well, that was relatively painless...
anyone else?

Ten Lionz, Ten was given by my Grand Father, as when he asked who I was, one of the other Grand Children thought he had asked how old I was, She said Ten. and so I was Ten, then the Clan title was given by my Great Uncle years later when I was earning my name. Ten Lionz.

The first time I ever journed to the lower worlds I found myself standing next to a great bear who was sound asleep.  I stood there watching for awhile and then my awareness shifted and I was inside Bear experiencing his dream as he dreamed it.  In his dream we flew up together into the sky.  Thus the name Bearsky.  Dennis

Green means life to me.

Based on experiences and occurences, another name might work, too. But, "green" suits me just fine.

Tenlionz:  Are you not also amused
that both our names come from misunderstandings?
hehe -

Bearsky: What a fearsome encounter!
Did your blood run cold or did you know him right away?

Green: Truly? Your name and avatar
have always made me 'see': “superhero”!
...and that's honest, not facetious ...

No, not exactly compelled, rather feeling "invited" to share.  I had been following B'net for a couple weeks, mostly the angry political discussions, and finally felt compelled to throw in my two cents's worth.  This required registering and choosing a name.  I chose BeerLover because I was brewing beer that day, and I liked the shock value of the name.  Having such an outlandish name also reveals who thinks really knows me, andwho thinks I'm some shallow John Belushi sort of alcoholic in real life.  I've been called "Beer Boy," and been accused of being "bloated and tipsy."  Those people have no clue who I really am.  It's good to know.  Besides, I'll bet there is no other tarot read anywhere on line who goes by the name of BEERLOVER.

Blessings on your Journey NHT.
