This very interesting question was posed somewhere within another post:

"They always say that when you get married in the temple, you're not just marrying the person across the altar.  You and this person are marrying God.  If that's the case, what do you say about all those women married to the same man?  If everybody's married to each other, doesn't that make polygamy a case of plural gay marriage?"

I asked the person if his logic couldn't be used to make a case for pedophilia and incest as well?I never got a response.

Anyone else want to take a stab at it pro or con?

It's true that the marriage vow is symbolic of the church as a whole being sealed to Christ.

Christ being the husbandman and the church being the virgin bride.

It is also true that we basically are all sealed to Christ. Has nothing at all to do with sex. It has to do with belonging to the family.
