Confusing Culture and religion

Have you ever read the Qu'ran and it mentioned which holidays are forbidden to participate in? Some Muslims say that participating in Christmas is forbidden, but these same self-righteous muslims have christmas trees and ornaments in their homes. Do you know any Muslims who particpate in Christmas?

I know some converts that join their families for celebration.

In my case, for e.g., my family has a big lunch for Christmas day. No one is religious or believes in Jesus (or God for that matter) but they just do it as a "family thing".

They know my beliefs and they know I don't believe that Jesus is god or anything like that, so I join them for the lunch and we have a great time :)

I think mostly converts, because Christmas is part of their culture, participate in different degrees in the celebrations. To be honest, we as a community have a lot more to worry about than whether some Muslims put up a tree (which has no religious significance in any case) or not.

All the best,

ceren
