Dear a disciple:
"set of prayer beads" «A Japa mala' or mala (Sanskrit:माला; mālā, meaning garland) (Tib. threngwa) is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists, usually made from 108 beads, though other numbers, usually divisible by 9, are also used.» en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_prayer_be... "how to use them" Karma Kagyu is the lineage that specialises in ritual. "count the beads and others say that there are prayers" You need an initiation. |

I would not know how to use a set of prayer beads, mainly because I would forget whilst counting. So, I made myself an abacus from a wooden frame, some stripped electrical wire and a set of yellow buttons. I have used the abacus very successfully when reciting Mantras, over a period of many years. If your practice is sincere, the results will arise just the same. |
