Hello,

as the title says it - I would like to get some first-hand information from European Muslim women who out of own volition, deliberately, choose to wear the burqa.

The reason why is the Sarkozy-statement about burqas "not being welcome" in France, and the ensuing debates here at b'net over freedom of religion / expression versus Sarkozy's allegedly feminist viewpoint of burqa=suppression.

If you're out there and are game, could you let me know - either here, or via mail?

Thanks! Chari.

Well, it appears there is no such person out there.

Chari... this forum doesn't have a lot of europeans.

If you want to meet european, burqa wearing women, I suggest you go to:

www.ummah.com/forum/

Just know that I don't even go there because I think the Muslims there are.... well, not my type of Muslim.

Thanks a lot, Ceren! I'll check that site out!

I am curious about the reasoning for wearing it, and (more, even) about the perspective / view on European societies that somebody has who chooses the burqa.

(Might very, very well not be 'my type of women' either. But let's see!)
