1) SDA's consider themselves to be the only true, remnant church. All others will be condemned in time. 2) SDA's will make your salvation dependent on observing the Saturday Sabbath, worshiping with them. 3) If you receive Christ as your Savior through SDA's, only your past sins are forgiven by grace up to that point. 4) As an SDA you now enter a period of "investigative judgment" where every deed you do or don't do is recorded for judgment day. 5) As an SDA you will be judged even for "idle moments" where you could have been more obedient. 6) As an SDA you will be encouraged to become a vegetarian. 7) SDA's will gloss over the scripture that says "...he who is weak in faith eats vegetables only..."(Romans 14:2). 8) SDA's will expect you to revere their founding prophetess, Ellen G. White, viewing her as having the "spirit of prophecy" referred to in the Bible book of Revelation. 9) In spite of revering Ellen G. White, SDA's won't ordain women. 10) SDA's won't tell you that EGW is a proven false prophetess. Her embarrassing early writings have been altered to cover this up. 11) SDA's won't tell you that they once denied the Trinity. Left over from that time period is the heresy that Jesus Christ is Michael. 12) SDA's have attempted to incorporate this false doctrine of Jesus being Michael by manipulation of scriptures, so EGW can be correct in their eyes when she says Michael is an OT name for Jesus. Shades of Jehovah's Witnesses! 13) SDA's won't tell you that an early Adventist (Nelson H. Barbour) co-published with the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Both proved to be false prophets. False date-setting caused them to part company. 14) SDA's won't tell you that early Adventists expected the literal second coming of Christ in 1843 and 1844 only to be disappointed. 15) SDA's won't tell you that their 1844 "investigative judgment" teaching was born out of an attempt to cover over this false prophecy. Instead of repenting over this false date, the claim was made that Christ really came, but INVISIBLY in heaven. 16) Their founder, Ellen G. White, prior to the failed prophecy, taught that the door to salvation was shut. This had to be reinterpreted and altered after the failure of 1844. 17) A former SDA pastor, Walter Rea, examining the prolific writings of EGW, found that she had plagiarized most of what she had written, including drawings of her "visions" from other authors. 18) The SDA Church has yet to reply to his challenge to prove that even 20% of her writings are original. 19) The explanation of the SDA Church for her plagiarism, that there were no copyright laws back then does not excuse her "borrowing". 20) The SDA Church made this statement in their "Ministry" magazine of Oct. 1981 and has never retracted it. 21) One former SDA Pastor reported that he was given a choice between the Bible or the writings of EGW. When he chose the Bible, he was excommunicated from the SDA church. 22) Ellen G. White's main emphasis was on diet. She taught "...if we subsist largely upon the flesh of dead animals, we shall partake of their nature".(Counsels on Diet & Foods. p. 390 in some editions). 23) SDA's will gloss over the fact that the Apostle Paul had a different view stating,"Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience' sake".(1 Cor. 10:25) 24) Most of Ellen G. White's concerns over diet were in an effort to control what she considered to be an excessive sex drive in the male. 25) She devoted endless pages to discussing "secret vice" (masturbation) and blamed the practice for a wide range of diseases. 26) Dr. Kellogg and his brother were influenced by EGW to create their famous cold cereal, not considered to be stimulating. 27) Ellen G. White consulted a phrenologist to have the bumps on her head read. This was just another one of her strange "health" views. 28) The SDA's continue to cling to views similar to the Jehovah's Witnesses, such as "soul sleep" and denying the reality of Hell. Jesus, however, taught more about hellfire than He taught about heaven. 29) SDA's won't tell you that their new "Clear Word Bible" is really the teachings of Ellen G. White inserted right into the Bible text, so her heresies appear to be the word of God to the unwary. 30) SDA's won't tell you that you will be required to lead a life of incredible legalism, attempting to keep the Old Law Covenant with all its restrictions. 31) SDA's won't tell you that they need to rely heavily on the Old Testament since the New Testament teaches the fulfillment of the Law in Jesus Christ. We are now under grace, not the Law. 32) SDA's teach that Christ did not completely atone for our sins on the cross of Calvary, in spite of the fact that He cried out "It is finished!".( John 19:30 ). 33) SDA's teach that we will have to stand in the presence of the living God for judgment without a mediator.(The Great Controversy). 34) SDA's gloss over 1 John 21, which states "...And if any man sin, we have an advocate (mediator) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." 35) To try to make their false prophecies on the 2300 days in Daniel work, SDA's misinterpret the Hebrew words "ereb boqer", for "days" into "years". However. these words literally mean "evenings-mornings". Obviously 2300 actual solar days of 24 hours each, not years as SDA's claim. This spoils 1844 and the "investigative judgment" theories. The above took me less than an hour.
When the critics have proven to be so wrong, so many times, and on some really simple stuff, why should we trust them on the more complex?

The latest claim I ran into was that the Conflict of the Ages series was "compiled by others."

A list of whoppers told about Ellen White. We now know that the following claims are false (or so outrageous as to need no rebuttal (see #31)): 1. That Ellen G. White was a plagiarist. 2. That Ellen G. White plagiarized by paraphrasing. 3. That Ellen G. White was a millionaire. 4. That Ellen G. White was accumulating property while telling everyone else not to. 5. That Fannie Bolton wrote Steps to Christ. 6. That Ellen G. White engaged in "wholesale plagiarism" of Conybeare and Howson. 7. That Ellen G. White was threatened with a lawsuit over her alleged plagiarism. 8. That Ellen G. White took a dozen servants with her to Australia. 9. That Ellen G. White plagiarized 80-90% ("and possibly more" according to some web sites). 10. That Ellen G. White predicted the San Francisco earthquake after it happened. 11. That Ellen G. White said only vegetarians will be saved. 12. That Ellen G. White said only sabbatarians will be saved. 13. That the Library of Congress wouldn't allow Ellen G. White's book The Great Controversy into the library because of the plagiarisms involved. 14. That an entire chapter of Sketches from the Life of Paul was "taken entirely" from a sermon by Melvill. 15. That the claim that "there is no point in the entire chapter that had not already come to Mevill before" Ellen G. White. 16. That Ellen G. White saw people on Jupiter. 17. That Ellen G. White made repeated claims that Jesus was coming in specific years. 18. That Ellen G. White asked Washburn and Crisler to undertake a research of the Life of Christ and then appropriated it and published it as Desire of Ages. 19. That Ellen G. White contradicted Scripture (53, or 75, or "much more than 75") times. 20. That Ellen G. White contradicted herself. 21. That Ellen G. White predicted that England would enter into the American Civil War. 22. That Ellen G. White copied her first vision from Foy; out of 6 examples listed that Foy said the claimant got one right. 23. or, did she copy it from Joseph Smith? Even the Mormon scholars who have looked at it don't believe it. 24. That Ellen G. White predicted that someone would be healed (and yet he died). 25. That SDA's "worship" Ellen G. White. 26. That Dr. Veltman proved Ellen G. White plagiarized. 27. That Ellen G. White's visions were the result of a head injury during childhood. 28. That Ellen G. White was a follower of Joseph Smith. 29. That Ellen G. White wrote that "The Civil War is a sign that Jesus is about to return." 30. That Ellen G. White called Jesus "Michael the Archangel" (Desire of Ages pp. 99, 379; Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, p. 158; Prophets & Kings p. 572) 1) There's no reference to Michael the archangel in DA on page 379. 2) There's no equation between Christ & Michael in Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, p. 158 or Prophets & Kings p. 572. 31. "Not to mention the Mason Illuminati influence on EGW toilet paper teachings!!" 32. "But from her own mouth, she was a racist." 33. Alleged quote from EGW: {EGW: Lazarus, leads the donkey at the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The healed dumb shouted the loudest, healed blind led the way and the healed cripples broke the most branches. "} Can't be found. 34. Another alleged quote from EGW {EGW: Man healed on the Sabbath, forgot it was Sabbath. "In his joy the man had forgotten that it was the Sabbath; yet he felt no condemnation for obeying the command of One who had such power from God." DA, p.203.} The unquoted part isn't in her book and yet the critics condemned her for it. 35. "Seeing this, in the light of her calling Him "Michael the Archangel" (Desire of Ages pp. 99, 379; Spiritual Gifts Vol. 1, p. 158; Prophets & Kings p. 572)" Unfortunately for the critic there was no mention of Michael in DA page 379, or in 1 SG 158, and there was no equation of Jesus with Michael in PK, 572. 36. Another alleged material from EGW: {EGW: THE SISTER OF MARTHA AND LAZARUS, WAS MARY MAGDALENE, AND SHE WAS LED INTO SIN BY SIMON. DA, p. 566,568.} She doesn't. You can prove that some of the above claims are false with as little as 5 minutes of work. The critics, however, will never spend that 5 minutes and will never admit that any of the above are false (even if they never made the claims themselves!).

Place me in the hands of the living, Loving Creator God----rather than the lying evil father of lies.
Peace, Sincerly. As long as sin is practiced, one will search for a means to validate the continuing therein. ANON
The greatest want of the world is the want of men--men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.---- ANON (Ellen G. White. 1882) |

>and ONLY the SDA's who keep the sabbath are the remnant seed church, the saints, right? Nope. 1) There's about 2 dozen other denominations that keep the Sabbath. 2) The word "church" has a number of meanings and since SDA teach that not even a majority of SDA's (not one in twenty) are ready to be saved, we don't even think that all of those on the books will be saved.
