David, i agreed with everything you said except about the part of Ellen White. She is a prophet and messenger to this church. She was reverred in this church as the messenger of the SDA Church. When this church began, we didnt shun her. We actually brought people to hear her speak. Over the years, many have been trying to drown out her writings which is counsel for the church. Should we place her above the bible? NO! Thats what she is saying. But, her work is the lesser light that leads you to the greater light. NO prophet of God ever spoke for themselves but for God. In addition, one of the last day deceptions she said would be the people hushing up her writings within in the church. Her words are not her words, they are the testimony of Jesus Christ. |

It is those Critics who are "the people hushing up her writings"(trying to). Since her writings are spirit led, they are the same as the Bible. It is better to use the scriptures to convey that message which needs to be taught to unbelievers at the beginning. Then show where EGW and the Scriptures Agree.
Peace, Sincerly. As long as sin is practiced, one will search for a means to validate the continuing therein. ANON
The greatest want of the world is the want of men--men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.---- ANON (Ellen G. White. 1882) |

Seventh-day Adventist Church was not established yet nor is part of william millers movement. although the failed prophecy gave nourishment to certain member of that group and later became a sect (SDA) afterwards but was not even existing at that millerite movement. after Oct 22, 1844 William miller focused his review on the prediction of the 2300 day prophesies disappointment but this centain Advent group in their own study came to understand the cleansing of the sanctuary is not the second coming of Christ but Christ's moving from Holy to the Most Holy place to intercede for His people. please read more of SDA history. |
