Salaam All,

I was wondering if it does happen or if it is rare?

Many thanks

Ok to put it a better way...

Do you think a non-Muslim woman could be compatable with a Muslim man or do they tend to follow convention and marry someone of similar background?

Peace

Does it depend on their strength of faith? Is it more likely if they have lapsed? Mind you know someone who acts less Muslim than myself and he is going to look for a the tradition wife from back home....

I guess it's rare anyway?

Peace,

I believe it depends on the individual...

I have known situations where men bring the woman into Islam..

It is not rare for a Muslim man to marry outside of his faith.

Some may date a woman outside of his faith but later choose to only marry within his faith.

I don't think it is justice to date outside of the faith and than choose to only marry within the faith.  It's like taking a woman to play with.  Some people believe in the Qur'an only while some may rely on culture, past environment, tradition or other writings.  It's like hijab or no hijab!

I have read that in certain instances a man may take a woman for a while and than not marry her (something like a trial marriage).  In my neighborhood term {shacking up}.. Wrong! Wrong! in my opinoin.

Peace, Wardah

Salaam Wardah

I know a Muslim who has dated all sorts of girls but said he will look for a wife from back home! As far as I know that's just him. Saying that it does hurt when you get to know someone, they express their love for you and say that wanted to ask you to marry them, just to see them marry a girl from back home. I don't know what was worse that or finding out I wasn't the first and maybe he just plays with women too!

Oh well I have a pet rabbit, he is enough trouble

Peace and love

Principally speaking Muslims can marry anyone from the people of the Law/scripture i.e. Jews and Christians.

Whether someone does it or not, would be a personal choice of the individual.

Good to hear from you again! I know the principle was just wondering about the reality. I guess I know the answer really, was just trying to add a glimmer of hope to life.

Best wishes

Walaikum Assalam,

I hope u guys are well.

I came here after a long long time. Frankly I did come back once before, But IT WAS AS IF I WAS STRUGGLING HELL with this site.

So much has changed over here. It was not that easy !!!

I was rather discouraged by the difficulties.

Besides I have been participating on another forum. Which is pretty aggressive in terms of participation. And also it was speedy; I guess due to lack of graphics and fancy bells.

Anyway, I rememberd Ms. Warda, and thought that I should give it another shot.

So Hello all. And May God bless u all.

Regards

Shah
