hi! im a beleiver of a very ancient egyptian religion started over 3000 years ago by a man named Akhetaten. the religion is called Atenism. the religions main focus is on the aorship of The Aten. Aten in egyptian means sun disk. but the word is just limited to sun. it could mean any kind of disk.

some religions would say that the sun has healing powers. this means that The Aten is a god of healing. The sun is also a symbol of power. this also means that The Aten is a god of order, justice, and truth.

there is a long list of what the powers of the sun are. but most of all, The Aten is a god of light and all that is good. the kind of good is one that keeps a peaceful order that everyone can benefit from. the kind of good is one that protects those who are also good. The Aten looks down upon violence but if it is needed to protect or to keep order, then The Aten will be right beside you. Remember is you just ask The Aten to shed some light on you, the benefits will be priceless and endless.

Em hotep,

Just to clarify, Akhenaten was the founder and Akhetaten was the city he founded.

I have studied Atenism for a while, and I do find it to be quite interesting.  I know many people who simply assume it is sun worship, but the sun is only the symbol of Aten and not Aten itself.  Assuming the sun disk and Aten are the same is like assuming the cross is Jesus (literally, not symbolically).

Like any religion it is about finding the right path in this world, doing right by yourself and others, and worshiping Aten.  Kind of broad and not much detail, but I'm low on time.  There are many websites out there that give a lot of detail, including a couple of sites devoted to the worship of Aten.
