Some experiences in meditation are codified by levels in Buddhism (the many jhanas). Some have vague, broad names like samadhi, satori, etc. Some are identified in the yogic context like the crown & nirvana chakras. Some are profoundly ego transcendent or entail a relatively supernatural qualia of mind.
Is there a functionalist view in Buddhism that sets these experiences into a context in the analysis of mind and self? Or are these only groovy phenomena to set aside? /leebert |
