It looks so far as if A Course In Miracles is to be the new scripture or newest testament for the new cosmic Age of Aquarius, just as what was written 1900 + years ago was the testament for the cosmic Age of Pisces, the fishes.

Its interesting Bob, I recently read some your posts about the A Course in Miracles. I've been thinking about learning more but just haven't had the opportunity. Low and behold, while I was at my local bookstore I came across a complete handbook/student workbook/teacher's manual all in one for the "Course". Wow, synchronicity is groovy. Anyway, I bought it but, given your obvious insight, I was wondering if you could give me an overview or  proper introduction on it before I go wading in. It seems pretty in depth and I don't want to sink before I learn to swim. Exactly what is 'A Course in Miracles'? It seems to use Christian ideas and motifs for a base at least as a context. Is it Christian? Just from the quick flip through I did while I was in the store I thought it seemed to have some sort of mantras...is there meditation involved? Sorry for the questions but I'm just trying to wrap my head around this.

Hi,

The Course is not Christian; it is post Christian, but at the same time based on modern teachings channeled from Jesus from 1965 to 1973.

It is easiest to begin with the Workbook of daily Lessons.   It is also useful to join a study group and learn from others who have been involved in it longer.

Do the "Ages" go counter-clockwise around the zodiac while the normal calendar runs clockwise?

Can anyone articulate why that is?

thanks!

The precession of the Ages goes counter clockwise.

Thanks for the reply! So, each age lasts how long? 2,000 years? Is there supposed to be a connection with the notion of BC/AD or is that a coincidence? Also, is there any notion of how many times the cycle's gone around? and when it first started, what sign started?

2160 years if there are 12 cosmic Ages within a precessional cycle.  Jesus was the Christ Avatar for the cosmic Age of Pisces the fishes, and his approx. birth was the occasion for the bc/ad changeover in time.

The message in book of Genesis is that Adam came to town about 119 or 120 of these Ages ago, but he was not the origin of man.  Info on the origin of man is not given.

As a Sign of authenticity any new scripture for the Age of Aquarius must be written by a true Aquarian author. Accept no substitutes, especially ones that are "New Age" yet are nothing but derivatives of Eastern theologies packaged for Westerners.

There is an authentic new gospel for the Age of Aquarius. It is the Gospel of Humanity and unlike every other theology now existent it Identifies God because it reveals in plain language what the original Gospels presented to the world in parable and metaphor.

There is no requirement that new scripture for the Age of Aquarius be written by an Aquarian.

Jesus recruited disciples who later went on to write Epistles for the N.T., and some of them were older than he was, and thus they were born in the Age of Aries rather than Pisces.

Additionally,  the ascended Jesus is the author of A Course In Miracles, and thus has no birthdate in a human sense.
