Let the beauty we love be what we do. . .

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty

and frightened. Don’t open the door to the study

and begin working. Take down a musical instrument.

Let the beauty we love be what we do.

There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If everybody tried to balance their life we would not be inclined to be on the defensive. .
I don`t know that I have a favorite (in a sense it is all good), but I like how the masnavi opens:
"Now listen to this reed-flute's deep lament
About the heartache being apart has meant:
'Since from the reed-bed they uprooted me
My song's expressed each human's agony,
A breast which separation's split in tow
Is what I seek, to share this pain with you:
When kept from their true origin, all yearn
For union on the day they can return."
That is Jawid Mojaddedi`s brilliant translation of which he has finished the first two books. The story of Moses and the shepard is good too, but probably too long to post here.
Gold is the capital required for the market of this world; in the next world, the capital is love and two eyes wet with tears
This one always peaks my imagination and I love to visualize the happiness of the rose.  It makes me happy too!
That which God said to the rose,
and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty,
He said to my heart,
and made it a hundred times more beautiful.
