We may pursue all that is noble, good, desirable, and beautiful. We can teach an appreciation of all life. We can live and teach others in such a way, that all will honor their father and mother. Within this society, we can raise the awareness of all humanity. We can bring all together as a family, with new expectations and goals in life.
With love,
Rev Dorris

You will find that if there is growth in the AUC--
It will come from those who are former members of the UUA who do believe in God. It will come from the Spiritual but not Religious folks. It will come from the Hebrew and Muslim believers who are not happy with the divisions and abuses of their faiths and want a viable organization to be active in. It will come from the Christians who believe there is more than one acceptable way to worship God, there is more than one messenger, and have lost faith in the Christian doctrine and exclusive stance of their churches. It will come from the Buddhist who do believe in God. It will come from the independent new thought groups who are looking to affiliate with a national or international organization that can provide active guidance and support. It will also come from many other groups like the native americans and Hindu who believe in God.
None of these groups are looking to become part of just another Christian denomination that will become exclusive and tell them what they must do or believe. They want no part of an organization that permits personal attacks on those who see things in different ways. They will want to learn and grow in an atmosphere of trust and love where they can freely share their views and openly ask questions to expand their knowledge.
With love,
Rev Dorris

Hello Rev Dorris, Good to hear from you again hope all is well with you. Myself with a Christian background but wasen't really raised in it and a belief in God have really come to like the UU's I concider myself as very Liberal and i see all faiths or none at all as ok to me we are all on different paths. I have been to the Unitarian Universalist fellowship in Boca Raton i'm thinking of going a little more that's saying alot from someone who has not been a church goer on any level but they are nice people there. i do not know of any American Unitarian Churches in my neck of the woods. Have a great day Rev Dorris.

RevDorris, I've just recently learned of the AUC and agree with its mission and purpose as I've read it. However, I've found absolutely no evidence of any congregations or fellowships nationally, never mind near my home in New York City. The official AUC web site seems to be nothing more than a collection of infrequently posted articles. Is the AUC a failed effort, and if so, why? Or is there any life left in it? Thanks, Donny

I haven't done as much research as Donny, but I had similar questions. Are there any congregations associated with the AUC, or is it an online collection of like-minded individuals?

The AUC has always been a small online community for the most part. It will not go away. There is a discussion group on Facebook at the present time. It has suffered from a lack of leadership from the top directors. There are many individuals trying to revitalize it and make it a more dynamic entity. I maintain Unitarian Community here on Beliefnet and also on Facebook too. There are also many UU congregations within the UUA who are seeking to return a God loving and Spiritual nature to that organization. If you can find like minded individuals in your town, start your own independent Unitarian fellowship or church. It only takes two individuals, working together to start such a fellowship. Unless individuals make this effort -- there will not be growth in most areas. It is too bad that most individuals will not make the effort or commitment to try to make a difference in their own communities. Your church or temple is where you share what you believe. Live your beliefs and do not hide your light -- you will find others will observe what you do. In the past few days, I have shared what I believe in many different ways. I have spoken at a funeral in New City, N.Y., I have done the same in Nanuet, N.Y., and New Jersey too. I walk and talk with friends who are willing to listen. I post views online almost every day. You can do the same -- you will find like minded individuals are all around you. Maybe today or tomorrow you will find me walking through Central Park
With love,
Rev Dorris
