I suppose I am a pantheist.
I intuit everything is one, but the "oneness" is apparently beyond our scientific examination and perhaps our comprehension. I prefer the label panmonist, as I am not sure "theism" has anything to do with anything, unless one defines pantheism as synonymous with monism. If it helps to understand "where my head is at", so to speak, I might mention I just finished reading "Philosophies of India" by Heinrich Zimmer (translated and edited by comparative mythologist Joseph Campbell). I would say I resonate with the metaphysics of esoteric Mahayana Buddhism, Advaita Vendantic Hinduism, and Tantric Hinduism. |
