Just came across a free book on Google Books:

The Religion of the Teutons by Pierre Daniel Chantepie de la Saussaye (what a name!)

Haven't read it yet, but it looks interesting, at the very least from a historical academics stance.

Uuela!

So a while back I came across cafepress.com when searching the Wodensdag website. They are a large internet store that allows folks to sell personalized products. At first i was a little skeptical, seeing as most of their shirts were extremely cheesy (lots of Odin university shirts and "your god was nailed to a cross and mine carried a hammer". ). i wasnt sure how decent their shirt printing would turn out. i finally decided to make a purchase last week and picked up a couple of tees. the quality seems really nice, and the printing is well done.

just thought i'd give anyone who hadn't seen these sites a heads up. cafepress takes a bit of searching to weed out the silly stuff, but there are some good products.

and Wodansdag has some nice hand crafted Thor's Hammer.

Curious if anyone else has read The Saxon Chronicles Series by Bernard Cornwell?  I read The Last Kingdom before I started college and had to wait three years before I finished school and had time to read the rest. (Even on my breaks I was trying to get ahead on the next quarter's reading list.) Now I've gone through The Pale Horseman and Lords of the North in a couple days and am in the queue for Sword Song at the library. (Oh, how I love being out of school!) They're historical fiction, and deal more with England than Scandinavia, but it's still refreshing to have a main character that wears a Thor's hammer and mocks Christianity.

I strongly suggest that you highlight any post you are about to submit and copy the entire post before making a post. There is a bug in some of the text editors that will delete a significant part of your post on the first attempt to post. If it happens then simply hit the edit button and paste your copied post over the truncated version and this time it ***should*** take.
