What books would you recommend to someone new to African religions?
I always remember that for every word typed there is a real person sitting behind the keyboard.

the only book that I would recommend is the Egyptian Book Of The Dead or some version of it.  Keep in mind that when the mysteries of the pyramids and the initiates of the the great pyramid of Gizah were made Egypt had not experienced much war so the people didn't look like mulattoes / arabs, they looked much like your average dark skinned African American.  Check out Edgar Cayce's website in the book section and they have some books on the subject.  I really hate to sound like a fanatic but Edgar Cayce is the one I go to for reference.
