Greetings to all the "oldies" who have transferred from the old site, and also to all the members new to this board!

I hope you will find the Evangelical Christianity forum a friendly and welcoming place, and that you return often as you navigate throughout the site.

We are looking forward to interacting with you.

Forget it, I got it.  You can't come in from your screen name prompt.

Ted, I think a lot of us are having *fun* trying to figure things out here....it's good to see you here, though! Keep muddling through - we'll all adapt to the changes.

Welcome, davelaw40. By your comment that you might start coming back, I am under the assumption that you used to post in EC boards but don't anymore. Is that right? I don't recall seeing you in the last year and a half on the other boards. If my assumption is right, was there a reason you stopped posting there? I want to make this a comfortable place for EC's to post, where we are free to talk with each other, share issues, do Bible studies, and generally fellowship together. It isn't a debate board, and conversations that look like they are turning into debate will be moved to the appropriate forums.

So it would be great if you give us another chance, and hopefully we will not disappoint you.

Hi Anesis!

Is this a 'protected' board?        I ask because I had the unfortunate pleasure of first going to the "Discuss, dialogue, debate" section listing for Evangelical Christianity.

Sad to say...  there are some hatefully-combative folks over there.

Just before the new site was announced, I spent some time on the Christian-to-Christian debate board, and I was appalled by several folks who claim to be "Christians" and they absolutely hate God's Word.  I shouldn't be surprised though as the Scriptures foretold that this would indeed happen.    There was said to be a time coming when people will fall away, and will "no longer endure sound doctrine."   People will call evil good and good evil.

I have witnessed here on B-net (and in the world) that those "perilous times" Paul spoke of are indeed here, in full swing.

Come quickly Lord Jesus...

In Christ,

mark

Hi An,

I have a couple questions and hope it is alright to ask them here!  First, you mentioned on the old boards that the new would be one area or board for everything under EC, like Women's Bible Study intermingled with Christian Bible Studies or Born Again, etc.  Am I right in assuming everything will be mixed in on this one board?  If not please explain how it will look and if true, the following questions...

1.  How do women keep the WBS area a women's area? Not that I believe men will be posting, but how will they know it is a women's area anyway?

2.  I am currently leading a study in the WBS area.  How much of that study (if any) can be transferred over?

Thanks for your help, An.

Hi, Mark!

I made a post on the old boards right after I saw the response to your post on the new “discuss EC” board. Yes, it is a cruel world, and certainly filled with those who hate what we stand for – even among “Christians.”

I believe this board is protected, but I have sent a note to my boss lady to be sure. I’ll let you know later today (I have to leave in a few minutes for mid-term exams, and then to get my glasses – a sign of my age, apparently). I will let you know asap, along with the description for the board, if there is one. I do know that this is not a debate board, and anything posted here will be moved to the “Discuss” board.

UBG, I’m glad you found us!

You are correct that this board will encompass all the other EC boards – aside from the Learn About board, which is now a Welcome to EC board in the Welcome center.

To bring your study over, you will need to copy and paste. You can do this post by post, and acknowledge each contributor that way, or you can make it all into one post – if it fits. I’m sorry, but I don’t know how much space they give us per post now.

I think the best way to keep it a Woman’s area is to state in the title of the thread “WBS” followed by the name of the study. Perhaps we could do “GBS” for general Bible study, and “MBS” for men’s Bible study. If the threads are not marked with one of these in the title, we will assume it is for general chit-chat and fellowship.

Does that work for everyone? If not, I am open to suggestions.

I hope that helps for now. Will check back in after exams.

I think I aced my exam.  :D

I heard from my superior, and yes, this board is protected. There will be a heading, but right now the staff is very busy, so it may take a bit to get one here. Till then, know that you can post here without worry that you will be attacked.

Hi An,

Yeah, I replied soon: I received a message in my main box that I have to access daily, and I was glad too!

And hello to everyone else who's stopped by: Mark and Ted and Ms. UBG! Looking forward to reading more from all the knowledgeable Scholars and Believers of God!

I still have to figure out how to apply my avatar to my post, but I'm positive a million other things will have to be figured out also.

An, I hope you can get situated, and I know at some point you will. Trials only go so far, and you're doing what you feel in your heart is right, as well as you can.

I liked your analogy of 'Light in the Darkness.' So many people pick apart Christ, and disbelieve, and follow their beliefs from their childhood or their country. but deep down I'm so aware and attuned to the reality of Christ. I try to be light An, but no doubt your a shining, beaming one!

Well, until later,
